Hydrogen peroxide Market Is Highly Growing in Industry with Good Revenue by 2027

Hydrogen peroxide Market

Hydrogen peroxide is a chemical compound that, when pure, appears as a pale blue, clear liquid with strong oxidising properties. It is most commonly available in the form of aqueous solutions. It is used as an oxidizer, bleaching agent, and antiseptic in a dilute (3–6% by weight) solution in water for consumer use, and in higher concentrations for industrial use. Hydrogen peroxide can also be used to treat mouth ulcers, as well as for mouth rinsing. It is used in the healthcare industry to treat wounds and as a sterilising agent for medical equipment.

The global hydrogen peroxide market was pegged at 4,944.8 Kilo Tons in 2018 and is expected to register a CAGR of 3.4% in terms of volume over the forecast period (2019– 2027).

For bleaching, the paper and pulp industries rely heavily on hydrogen peroxide. This compound improves the brightness and stability of the pulp, allowing it to be used in the production of high-quality display boards, magazines, and other products. In the cotton textile industry, hydrogen peroxide is used to catalyse the removal of impurities and extract high-quality cotton for textiles. Because of its excellent biodegradability, it is used as a bleaching agent in the food processing industry.
Because of its chemical properties, hydrogen peroxide is used in a wide range of industries. For example, during the recent COVID-19 pandemic, demand for hydrogen peroxide increased dramatically due to its use in cleaning products. It kills germs on bathroom surfaces, toilets, and doorknobs. It eliminates viruses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, global guidelines were imposed to disinfect both public and private spaces. On a regular basis, public areas such as airports, commercial buildings, and railway stations, among others, were told to be sterile.
In addition, the demand WHO recommended alcohol-based hand sanitisers for frequent hand hygiene, which had Hydrogen peroxide as one of the key components. This there was an increased demand for Hydrogen peroxide even during the pandemic and is expected to continue in near future. It also finds application in Water & Wastewater Treatment. For instance, in drinking water purification, it is used to control taste and odour, ozone enhancement and disinfection, and to degrade organics in industrial or municipal wastewater. It can also be used for the disinfection of wastewater treatment plants.
