Flexible intermediate bulk container (FIBC), generally termed as big bags, bulk bags or jumbo bags that are used to transport material such as food grains, chemicals, fertilizers, and polymers. Polypropylene (PP) in the form of woven fabric is widely used to manufacture flexible intermediate bulk container (FIBC). In general, the load-carrying capacity of PP jumbo bags ranges from 200 Kg to 2,000 Kg. However, few customized PP jumbo bags can carry more than 2,000 Kg load.
Demand for polypropylene jumbo bags in agriculture, fertilisers, food, chemicals, and other end-use sectors is increasing due to an increase in demand for efficient packaging bags for handling and transportation of industrial commodities. Furthermore, the qualities of these bags, such as superior electric insulation, durability, UV stability, excellent tensile strength, and low transportation costs, are expanding their popularity in these industries.
The PP jumbo bags market is supposed to witness high demand across the globe. A few years back, textile materials were the prominent choice for packaging of heavy products to prevent damage during transportation. Nowadays, the majority of organizations which used textile packaging have shifted to PP jumbo bags due to better protection of materials that are transported, ease of procurement, and high efficiency. Also, empty PP jumbo bags can be stored easily due to their flexibility and products in them can be transported without the need for pallets. These factors are expected to drive the global PP jumbo bags market during the forecast period. In countries such as China, India, Bangladesh, and other emerging APEJ countries, the demand for PP jumbo bags is expected to grow with rising industrialization and increasing import and export.
In 2018, the regular PP jumbo bags category held the greatest proportion of the global PP jumbo bags market. This is due to the lower cost and growing use of ordinary PP jumbo bags in fertiliser and construction material transport. During the forecast period, the segment is expected to lead the market (2019-2027).
During the forecast period, Asia Pacific is predicted to be the fastest-growing region in the worldwide PP jumbo bags market. The region's favourable growth of end-use industries such as agriculture, chemicals, and food is offering significant chances for market growth. For instance, according to the India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) report, the chemical industry in India is projected to reach US$ 300 billion by end of 2025.
