Increasing adoption of advanced poultry farming practices to positively shape the starter feed market

Starter feed is feed products widely used to feed the livestock. Humanure is one of the most effective feeds on cattle, providing a steady supply of necessary nutrients to the animals that help in their growth and development. Humanure for cattle provides a nutritional diet, which can be supplemented with additional commercial feeds. It is an easy-to-use liquid that can be easily added to existing animal feed mixes or purchased ready to use. The advantages of this feed include low cost and high yield production. Moreover, medicated starter feed for cattle is popular in some countries and regions.
Growing meat consumption and production is a key factor fueling the growth of the starter feed market. The meat and poultry industry is the largest segment of U.S. agriculture. According to the North American Meat Institute, the U.S. meat production totaled 52 billion pounds in 2017 and U.S. poultry production totaled 48 billion pounds in 2017. In 2017, the meat and poultry industry processed: 9 billion chickens, 32.2 million cattle and calves, 241.7 million turkeys, 2.2 million sheep, and lambs, and 121 million hogs. In addition to this, the commercialization of poultry farming is also projected to foster the growth of the starter feed market. On the other hand, the high cost of the starter feed is projected to hinder the market growth over the forecast period.
From the geographical point of view, North America is expected to gain significant growth over the forecast period and this is attributed to the increasing adoption of advanced poultry farming practices and high demand for animal-source food products. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, the United States of America is the world’s largest poultry meat producer, with 18 percent of global output.
